At Chapel St Conservation and Restoration, we believe in the value of craft and revere how things were once made to last. We believe hand crafted objects are integral to our understanding of how life was,  whether through form or function these things can act as useful clues and give narrative to our past. Many objects these days could not be remade as they once were, it would not be cost effective, the specialist skills required have been lost,  and with our post-modern obsession for the brand new we are in danger of losing our material heritage for good.  This is why we feel it is so important to preserve these objects for the future,  through support, consolidation, reattaching, repainting, strengthening, cleaning and or any other means to prolong the life span of your object, in a sensitive and considered way. This is what here at Chapel St. Conservation and Restoration we aim to do.
